A COLLABORATIVE ISLAMIC PARENTING MODEL IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: INTEGRATING THE ROLES OF FATHERS AND MOTHERS
IN CHILD REARING
Abstract
This study aims to develop a school-based Islamic parenting model at the elementary level that focuses on the collaborative integration of fathers’ and mothers’ roles in child upbringing. The study is motivated by the phenomenon of declining father involvement in the education of elementary school children, particularly in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design using interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that involvement in Islamic parenting has a significant impact on children’s spiritual, socio-emotional, and academic development. The proposed parenting model emphasizes collaboration among families, schools, and communities based on the values of the Qur’an and Hadith. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing father-friendly school programs.
