KEGIATAN SKRINING GIZI MELALUI PENGUKURAN ANTROPOMETRI PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TPA ISLAM BUSTAN ASSOFA BANDA ACEH
Abstract
Masalah gizi pada anak usia dini masih menjadi isu penting dalam kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia, termasuk di Banda Aceh. Anak usia dini merupakan kelompok rentan karena berada pada masa pertumbuhan yang pesat, sehingga memerlukan pemantauan status gizi secara berkala. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan skrining gizi melalui pengukuran antropometri serta meningkatkan kesadaran guru dan orang tua mengenai pentingnya pemantauan status gizi anak.
Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan partisipatif, dengan sasaran seluruh anak usia dini di TPA Islam Bustan Assofa Banda Aceh yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran antropometri meliputi berat badan, tinggi badan, dan lingkar lengan atas, serta didukung oleh observasi dan wawancara. Data kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan indeks antropometri sesuai standar.
Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya variasi status gizi pada anak, baik dalam kategori normal maupun berisiko mengalami masalah gizi. Pengukuran antropometri terbukti efektif dalam mendeteksi kondisi seperti underweight, stunting, dan wasting secara dini. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran guru serta orang tua terkait pentingnya gizi seimbang dan pemantauan pertumbuhan anak. Faktor yang mempengaruhi status gizi meliputi pola makan, kebiasaan konsumsi, serta kurangnya pemantauan pertumbuhan.
Kesimpulannya, skrining gizi melalui pengukuran antropometri merupakan metode yang efektif dalam deteksi dini masalah gizi pada anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dan dapat menjadi dasar intervensi kesehatan. Oleh karena itu, skrining gizi secara rutin sangat dianjurkan sebagai upaya promotif dan preventif.

Abstract
Nutritional problems among early childhood children remain an important public health issue in Indonesia, including in Banda Aceh. Early childhood is a vulnerable group due to rapid growth and development, requiring regular monitoring of nutritional status. This community service activity aims to conduct nutritional screening through anthropometric measurements and to increase the awareness of teachers and parents regarding the importance of monitoring children’s nutritional status.
The method used was descriptive with a participatory approach, targeting all early childhood children at TPA Islam Bustan Assofa Banda Aceh, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements including body weight, height, and mid-upper arm circumference, supported by observation and interviews. The data were then analyzed descriptively based on standard anthropometric indices.
The results showed variations in children’s nutritional status, ranging from normal to those at risk of nutritional problems. Anthropometric measurements proved effective in early detection of conditions such as underweight, stunting, and wasting. In addition, this activity improved the knowledge and awareness of teachers and parents regarding the importance of balanced nutrition and growth monitoring. Factors influencing nutritional status included dietary patterns, consumption habits, and lack of regular growth monitoring.
In conclusion, nutritional screening through anthropometric measurement is an effective method for early detection of nutritional problems in early childhood. This activity also contributes to increasing community awareness and can serve as a basis for health interventions. Therefore, routine nutritional screening is highly recommended as a promotive and preventive effort.
