PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGEMBANGAN HUNIAN TAHAN BANJIR BERBASIS KARAKTERISTIK RUMOH SANTEUT DAN INDIGENOUS PSYCHOLOGY DI DESA COT PREH, ACEH BESAR
Abstract
Banjir merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang dapat mengganggu keberlangsungan aktivitas masyarakat, terutama pada aspek fungsi hunian, kenyamanan, keamanan, dan aktivitas sosial keluarga. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya pengembangan hunian yang tidak hanya mempertimbangkan aspek teknis, tetapi juga memperhatikan karakteristik arsitektur lokal serta pengalaman dan nilai budaya masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi masyarakat Desa Cot Preh, Aceh Besar, dalam mengembangkan konsep hunian tahan banjir berbasis karakteristik Rumoh Santeut dan pendekatan Indigenous Psychology. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu survei singkat mengenai pengalaman masyarakat dalam menghadapi banjir, penyuluhan mengenai karakteristik Rumoh Santeut sebagai inspirasi hunian adaptif, serta diskusi mengenai kebutuhan ruang berdasarkan nilai budaya dan pengalaman masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa banjir berdampak terhadap berbagai aktivitas penghuni Rumoh Santeut, antara lain aktivitas memasak, beristirahat, penyimpanan barang dan dokumen penting, mobilitas anggota keluarga, kegiatan belajar anak, serta kenyamanan dan privasi keluarga. Penyuluhan memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat bahwa karakteristik Rumoh Santeut dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi dalam pengembangan hunian tahan banjir melalui adaptasi prinsip lokal terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat masa kini. Sementara itu, diskusi berbasis Indigenous Psychology menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan ruang masyarakat tidak hanya ditentukan oleh fungsi fisik, tetapi juga berkaitan dengan pola interaksi keluarga, privasi, aktivitas sosial, kegiatan keagamaan, keamanan, dan kebutuhan kelompok rentan. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kearifan arsitektur lokal dengan pengalaman dan nilai budaya masyarakat dapat menjadi pendekatan dalam pengembangan hunian tahan banjir yang adaptif, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan masyarakat Desa Cot Preh.
