PEMBERDAYAAN PETANI GARAM MELALUI TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL BERBASIS INTERNET OF THINGS DAN KEARIFAN LOKAL DI GAMPONG LAM UJONG
Abstrak
Produksi garam tradisional di Gampong Lam Ujong, Kecamatan Baitussalam, Kabupaten Aceh Besar masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, terutama fluktuasi salinitas air akibat perubahan cuaca dan keterbatasan sistem pemantauan yang selama ini dilakukan secara manual. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada kualitas dan kuantitas hasil produksi garam serta menurunkan efisiensi kerja petani. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberdayakan petani garam melalui penerapan transformasi digital berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang tetap mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi analisis kebutuhan mitra, instalasi perangkat monitoring salinitas berbasis sensor dan mikrokontroler, pelatihan penggunaan sistem kepada petani, serta monitoring dan evaluasi keberlanjutan program. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem monitoring mampu memberikan informasi salinitas secara real-time, meningkatkan pemahaman petani terhadap kondisi air tambak, serta membantu pengambilan keputusan dalam proses produksi. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kesadaran teknologi dan kesiapan petani dalam mengadopsi inovasi digital tanpa meninggalkan praktik tradisional yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap efisiensi produksi serta memperkuat kapasitas masyarakat pesisir dalam menghadapi tantangan perubahan iklim dan dinamika pasar. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pemberdayaan petani garam berbasis teknologi yang berkelanjutan di wilayah pesisir lainnya.
