Breastfeeding is a natural process so that a mother during pregnancy, not only prepares for childbirth but also has to prepare for the process of forming breast milk. So that breastfeeding can be considered as a subject that stands alone when culture, social support and knowledge and skills of health care professionals including midwives, clearly have an impact on the success of the initiation cloud and the duration of breastfeeding. One of the nutritional problems currently being faced by Indonesia is the problem of malnutrition in children aged 0-23 months or children under two years old (batuta) which is Indonesia's agenda and priority. Various studies show that the family plays a very important role in determining the parenting and consumption patterns of breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding nutrition is very important because it is related to the health of mothers and children. During breastfeeding, mothers are advised to increase their intake of calories, protein, calcium, iron, folic acid and other vitamins and minerals to meet their nutritional needs while breastfeeding. In order for the mother to produce 1 liter of breast milk, additional food is also needed. If a mother who is breastfeeding her baby does not get additional food, it will certainly result in a decline in the manufacture and production of breast milk. Moreover, during pregnancy the mother also experienced malnutrition. Therefore additional food for a mother who is breastfeeding is absolutely necessary. The nutritional status of breastfeeding mothers is caused by many factors, one of which is the mother's diet or nutrient intake. A good diet is a balanced diet, meeting the nutritional needs of the mother in terms of both type and amount. In everyday life, it is not uncommon to find breastfeeding mothers experiencing nutritional deficiencies due to certain food restrictions related to cultural issues. A person's nutritional intake is determined by eating habits and frequency of eating.
