Third trimester pregnant women are women who are carrying a fetus in the uterus and gestational age of 28-40 weeks is calculated from the first day of the woman's last menstruation. The period of pregnancy, especially the third trimester, is a critical period when the need for nutrients increases. If iron in the blood is lacking, the hemoglobin level will decrease resulting in disruption and fetal growth. According to the World Health Organization Anemia is a condition in which red blood cells are reduced so that their oxygen carrying capacity is insufficient to meet the body's physiological needs. The most common cause of anemia globally is iron deficiency. Prevention of iron deficiency can be done by consuming as many as 90 tablets of Fe during pregnancy, if not consumed, it is feared that the mother will experience anemia (Ministry of Health RI 2015). Pregnant women are said to be anemic if their hemoglobin is less than 11gr/dl. 41.8% of pregnant women who experience anemia are caused by iron deficiency (Ministry of Health RI 2015). Iron can be found in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and meat in everyday foods that contain vitamins C and B12 which can help iron absorption. Guava fruit is one of the non-pharmacological therapies that offers great health benefits for people with anemia, because the vitamin C content in red guava is equivalent to 6 times the vitamin C content in oranges, 10 times the vitamin C content in papaya, 17 times the vitamin C content in guava water and 30 times the content of vitamin C in bananas. The content of vitamin C in red guava reaches its peak just before ripening, the content of vitamin C per 100 grams of ripe red guava is 150.50 mg, optimally ripe is 130.13 mg and overripe is 132.24 mg. In addition, guava plants are easy to find and more economical, so that is one of the reasons for selecting ingredients to be products for intervention.
