PENTINGNYA MEMAHAMI MINAT DAN BAKAT DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA SMA
Abstract
Bakat dan minat merupakan faktor kunci yang memengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa, terutama di kalangan remaja saat ini yang menghadapi tantangan unik dalam pendidikan. Banyak siswa SMA mengalami penurunan motivasi belajar akibat tekanan akademik, banyaknya informasi dari media sosial, dan kurangnya dukungan dalam menemukan minat mereka. Di sisi lain, pemahaman tentang minat dan bakat sering kali kurang terintegrasi dalam sistem pendidikan, sehingga siswa tidak sepenuhnya menyadari potensi diri mereka. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu siswa mengetahui dan memahami minata dan bakat serta implikasinya terhadap motivasi belajar. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMA 6 Banda Aceh. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sangat memuaskan, ini terlihat dengan antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan tes minat bakat dan konsultasi hasil tes minat bakat serta meningkatnya pemahaman siswa terhadap minat dan bakat yang dimiliki, hal ini berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa.

Talents and interests are crucial factors influencing students' learning motivation, particularly among today's adolescents who face unique educational challenges. Many high school students experience decreased motivation due to academic pressure, information overload from social media, and inadequate support in identifying their interests. Moreover, the understanding of talents and interests is often insufficiently integrated into the education system, preventing students from fully recognizing their potential. This community service aims to assist students in discovering and understanding their interests and talents, as well as their impact on learning motivation. Conducted at SMA 6 Banda Aceh, the initiative yielded highly satisfactory results, as demonstrated by the students' enthusiasm during the talent and interest assessments and consultations. Increased awareness of their own interests and talents positively influenced their learning motivation.
